Josh Thomas dressed as Gerard Way on the Australian quiz show Talkin Bout Your Generation.

“I play a dreadful Marilyn Monroe. You can’t believe how many grates I had to stand over! Kerri-Anne Kennerley is [Dynasty’s] Crystal Carrington.

"Wil Anderson and Charlie Pickering are Doc and Marty from Back to the Future, Josh Lawson is Harry Potter and Josh Thomas is white-faced and strange-jacketed Gerad Way, from the group My Chemical Romance. He just looks like an unusual Goth in a military jacket!” she said.

From Defamer: [Josh Thomas had…] a raging Twitter addiction. He even installed the Twitterrific application on his iPhone so he could tweet on the go. And he did, prolifically – until a recent incident forced him to stop. It began with an innocent comment on Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation, the hit quiz show on which Thomas leads the generation Y team.

”[Host] Shaun Micallef asked me who I was dressed as and I said, ‘Gerard Way from the emo rock band My Chemical Romance’,” Thomas says. ”That was it.”

Problem is, My Chemical Romance fans hate being called emos. Enraged, they flooded Thomas’ Twitter page with abusive comments and threats.

”It was terrifying to see how weirdly devoted people are to this band,” he says. ”They’re like a cult. Their crazy messages were kind of fun for a while but then it got to the point where I thought, ‘One of you might come to my house and kill me’.

”And I’m amazed at how many of them claim that Gerard Way saved their life. Maybe he used to be a paramedic but I’m pretty sure he’s just a douche who writes emo rock songs.”
